To celebrate our 10th birthday we are delighted to announce that Leicester Charity Link will be our official charity for the year.
Our pledge to them is to raise £10,000 by the 30th September 2012… and the countdown has started!
Why Leicester Charity Link? Well, we’ve worked with them in the past and have rarely met such an enthusiastic and passionate bunch of people! It’s also a charity that is focused on Leicestershire and that’s our home county. Finally… their work.
Each year they help over 5,000 local vulnerable people and children who are experiencing poverty by providing everyday items that the majority of us take for granted. A bed to sleep in, a cooker on which to prepare hot meals and — in emergencies — food. These items may not cost much, but they make a massive difference to people’s lives. For every £10 that’s donated Leicester Charity Link can raise £50 from charitable trusts that are available to help and all of that £50 goes to those in need.
So, when we raise £10,000 for them this year, they will raise £50,000. That’s a lot of help for people who really do need it.
